GM and Hilltop Chevrolet Expand Military Discount in May
Spouses and retirees included in honor of U.S. Military Appreciation Month

Somersworth, NH - May 9, 2011 - GM and Hilltop Chevrolet will honor National Military Appreciation Month by expanding the industry-leading GM Military Discount to military spouses and retirees; offering an exclusive "Honor" badge to anyone who buys an eligible Chevrolet through the program, and by donating $100 to Cell Phones for Soldiers for each eligible vehicle sold with a military discount.

"It is a pleasure to honor the men and women of our Armed Forces, their spouses and retirees," said Ron Currier, Owner of Hilltop Chevrolet. We are committed to offering New Hampshire's and Maine's military professionals and their family members the best value in the industry. We pay homage and say thank you for keeping our country safe and for preserving our precious liberties."

During May, the GM Military Discount program (already recognized as the best program in the industry) will be extended to spouses of Active and Reserve members, as well as retirees, of the U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, National Guard and Coast Guard. The discount is available on most Chevrolet models with discounts typically ranging between $500 and $4,000 off the suggested retail price of the vehicle purchased. In addition, the GM Military Discount offers a $750 discount on unselected Chevrolet vehicles to eligible members of USAA, a financial services provider for the military community.
In 2010 alone, the GM Military Discount program provided more than 70,000 discounts to military personnel and their families with a cumulative value of more than $60 million. For every person who purchases, leases or orders a new Chevrolet using the GM Military Discount in May, Chevrolet will provide an exclusive set of "Honor" vehicle badges as well as contributing $100 to Cell Phones for Soldiers, a non-profit group that provides free communication tools to troops serving overseas.
Since May 2010, Chevrolet and its dealers have collected more than 50,000 cell phones. Since the program began, proceeds from phone collections have provided more than 114 million minutes (or more than 200 years) of free calls home for U.S. troops. At the customer's request, dealers will install the badges on their new Chevrolet at no additional charge. The badge features a yellow ribbon and "Honor" script, a subtle recognition of their service.
The Military Appreciation Month program will conclude with 99 "Honor & Valor" Limited Edition 2012 Chevrolet Camaro SS vehicles, which will debut during the Indianapolis 500 military personnel parade on May 28. The limited-edition Camaro will be available to order through www.gmmilitarydiscount.com, beginning in May.

About Cell Phones for Soldiers

Cell Phones for Soldiers was created by Brittany & Robbie Bergquist of Norwell Mass.  After reading a story about a soldier who ran up a huge phone bill calling home from Iraq, these two teenagers decided to help out.  They started by opening an account with $21.00 of their own money.  They are collecting cash donations and old cell phones.  The cell phones are recycled for cash and the proceeds are used to buy prepaid calling cards for our soldiers serving in the Middle East.  Cell Phones for Soldiers is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  Their efforts have motivated people and businesses around the country to donate to this worthy cause.  Their goal is to provide every U.S. soldier with a way to call home for free.  For more information, please visit www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com.

Cars and Crossovers Drive Chevy April Sales Up 25 Percent
·        Retail sales climb 25 percent, driven by demand for Cruze, Equinox and Malibu
·        Hilltop Chevrolet Sales Rise in April

Somersworth, NH - May 10, 2011 - With the price of gasoline above $4 a gallon in many parts of the United States, more customers are choosing Chevrolet's fuel efficient cars and crossovers.

In April, Chevrolet sold a total of 169,794 vehicles, for a 25 percent increase in both total and retail sales over the same month a year ago. Driven by consumer demand for fuel efficiency, nearly 40 percent of brand's total sales in April were from three fuel-efficient vehicles: the Chevrolet Cruze, Malibu and Equinox.

"Rising fuel prices have led many of our customers to purchase more fuel efficient vehicles, and they are finding what they need here at Hilltop," said Josh Jones, Hilltop Chevrolet Sales Manager. "We offer nine vehicles that get more than 30 mpg, such as the Chevrolet Cruze, Malibu and Equinox, for car buyers that want more miles per gallon.

Nationally, Chevrolet sold a record 25,160 Cruze compact cars in April, the most compact cars Chevrolet has sold since May of 2008. In April, retail sales (those to individual customers) were nearly three times higher than Cobalt a year ago.

The four-cylinder Cruze offers hybrid-like fuel economy (up to 42 mpg highway) without the hybrid price. The Cruze is also attracting customers who want both fuel economy and upscale features: For 2011, nearly one in four Cruze buyers chose a model equipped with heated, leather seats.

In April, Chevrolet sold a total of 24,701 Malibu midsize cars (up 49 percent from a year ago). Malibu retail sales are up 8 percent for April and 4 percent for the year compared with 2010 which was the best year for Malibu retail sales since 2000.

With the standard 2.4L Ecotec four-cylinder engine and six-speed automatic, the Malibu delivers 33 mpg on the highway. That fuel efficiency helped Malibu become the only midsize car to be named a "Best Buy" by Consumers Digest three years in a row.

In April, Chevrolet sold a total of 17,067 Equinox (up 42 percent from a year ago) and the best April sales ever for the compact crossover.

Equipped with the standard 2.4L four-cylinder Ecotec engine and six-speed automatic, the front-wheel-drive Equinox delivers 32 mpg highway, better than the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 and the Ford Escape Hybrid. Equinox was named the Best in Class compact SUV in Auto Pacific's 2010 Ideal Vehicle Awards.
